I'm Brigitta Jackson Respress, the Founder/CEO of The Conscious Spot. As a licensed Mental Health Service Provider based in the Atlanta area, we are here to guide you through life’s most complex and difficult matters. The goal of The Conscious Spot is to focus on wholeness; mind, body and spirit which the key to overall effectiveness. The art of Mindfulness is integrated into our treatment to elevate your levels of consciousness and create a deliberate and intentional awareness of the here and now. Everyday is a blessing to be able to assist clients on their journey to wholeness and wellness. It gives me great joy to witness the process of others and my award, is simply the positive outcomes and the confidence the client(s) take as they take steps to reach their desired goals.

We provide a number of specialized therapeutic services to those dealing with challenging life experiences. The client's well-being is our number one priority, and we will go above and beyond to help them through all their obstacles. The Conscious Spot has been my dream "to be the change I want to see in the world" by using this platform to advocate for destigmatizing mental health care for marginalized communities, one client at a time. Brigitta Respress

Meet Brigitta Respress, Licensed Psychotherapist! She is a dynamic, insightful therapist focused on healing and results. Her evidence based practices add significant value to the effectiveness and efficiency of her work with clients. She has a proven ability to help identify root causes of problems and effectively teaches her clients to help themselves as she coaches them through the process of overcoming and excelling beyond their obstacles.
Mrs. Respress is a Veteran, who served during both Operation Desert Shield and the Gulf War with 14 years of service and Top Secret Clearance. Brigitta holds numerous degrees and certifications and also serves as an instructor of Psychology, Sociology, Human Growth and Development, Philosophy and English at Norcross Institute of Allied Health. In addition to her educational accomplishments, she is a certified trainer in nine (9) areas for personal, social and relationship development in collaboration with Georgia Family Council and Georgia Healthy Marriage Initiative project (GAHMI). Mrs. Respress has also obtained certifications in Coaching, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness-Based Behavioral Therapy (MBCT). In addition, her experience includes more than a decade of Human Resources Management experience and court mediation. This rare combination gives her extraordinary insight and skillset which provide an excellent backdrop as she works with her clients on their personal, social and emotional growth.
Brigitta Respress uses her degree in Sociology to work with diverse clients of all ages, cultures and various backgrounds. She provides therapeutic intervention in the areas of: substance abuse support, trauma, PTSD, depression, anger and stress management, domestic violence, grief and loss, couples, youth and family counseling, behavioral problems, parenting, co-parent mediation, employment issues and concerns and suicidal ideations. She utilizes differentiated techniques to assist with diagnosing and resolving personal, social, vocational, interpersonal and intrapersonal concerns. Her broad knowledge coupled with her compassion for her clients has led to notable success.
Brigitta is dedicated to using her talents and skills to connect and positively influence those she interacts with. She is relatable and committed to continuous growth and improvement. Mrs. Respress believes in excellence, and promotes it by giving her best and helping others to not only discover their best, but teach them how to be their best and give their best.

Francessa Sykes
Mental Health Therapist

My philosophy as a therapist is to treat each client as a unique individual, worthy of unconditional acceptance, regardless of his or her personal circumstances or struggle.
As a supervised Masters of Mental Health Counseling, Mrs. Sykes works with clients with mental health issues and substance addiction. Mrs. Sykes works with client's suffering from a multitude of co-occurring disorders, that include anxiety, depression, grief, loss, and trauma. A skilled compassionate, empathetic, objective and non-judgmental ear dedicated to providing effective care. We all struggle with life’s challenges. It is not what happens to us but how we deal with our challenges. “My desire is to establish an open and trustworthy relationship with my clients. Together we can work through life’s challenges. My goal is to open your mind, expand your thoughts on what is possible, to offer you a vision for your future and to enhance your current skills to create healthier ones”.
